Extra gear added to By The Way

"Lewis said By the Way, a winner of five of his 19 starts, was the soundest he had been for a long time which he attributed to keeping him in light work on a water-walker after his last run when he finished midfield in the Winter Championship Final (1600m) at Flemington in July."

Huxssen out to break his drought

Trainer Peter Morgan will be looking to prove the naysayers wrong when Huxssen attempts to win his first race in nearly two years at Sandown.

"Most of his (Huxssen's) problems are wear and tear in the neck, back and joints which happens as horses get older," Morgan said.
"The water-walker and pool saves horses like him."

Mister Anthony returns to Tabcorp Park

“I sent him to a thoroughbred stud farm a fortnight before the Newcastle Mile and they worked him for a week in a water-walker, it’s like a walking machine but there is water up to about the horse’s chest and it seemed to freshen him up so I have decided to do exactly the same with him this week and he is going to spend the entire week there.”

Niwot's co-trainer, Wayne Hawkes
