"Lewis said By the Way, a winner of five of his 19 starts, was the soundest he had been for a long time which he attributed to keeping him in light work on a water-walker after his last run when he finished midfield in the Winter Championship Final (1600m) at Flemington in July."

A day in the life...
Trackwork isn't the only option. Others include working a horse off a lead pony, leaving the horse to work on the above-ground treadmill or the water-walker, which simulates beach work, or sending the horse for a swim.

Helping put polish on Black Caviar
Clarke's water-walking facility has become a staple of Black Caviar's race-conditioning diet and her trainer Peter Moody was so taken by the property that he began sending horses there for rehabilitation and pre-training well before she started smoking up the track and burning rivals.

Huxssen out to break his drought
Trainer Peter Morgan will be looking to prove the naysayers wrong when Huxssen attempts to win his first race in nearly two years at Sandown.
"Most of his (Huxssen's) problems are wear and tear in the neck, back and joints which happens as horses get older," Morgan said.
"The water-walker and pool saves horses like him."

Mister Anthony returns to Tabcorp Park
“I sent him to a thoroughbred stud farm a fortnight before the Newcastle Mile and they worked him for a week in a water-walker, it’s like a walking machine but there is water up to about the horse’s chest and it seemed to freshen him up so I have decided to do exactly the same with him this week and he is going to spend the entire week there.”

Shocking forecast: Brown likes Lucas Cranach's chances better than his '09 winner
''He smashed the back of his knee, and vets in Sydney and Melbourne said he wouldn't race again,'' Hawkes said. ''He had a long period of recovery, and we had him two weeks on the water walker and two weeks off it, and nature took its course.''

Professional Trainers
With so many professional trainers using Water Walkers to train their horses I though it would be a great idea to document their comments....
